Companion to Day Fifty-Eight: Fakts

Oldy healed my arm – or close enough. We poured oil into the hold, each cabin, and the galley.

What I learned about pirates today:

*Historical pirate ships were among the most democratically-run workplaces of their era.

*Historical pirates often had a form of insurance in order to help injured crewmen.

*Pirate culture was unusually accepting of mistreated or hated minorities.

*The greatest concentration of pirates today is found around. . . Indonesia.
