Someday soon I might get my hair-cutting scissors out for TJ for the first time, since some bits of his hair are quite long and I’m not too sure about mullets/comb-overs, especially worn simultaneously. But it’ll be a long while before he looks like a girl, so maybe not.

Swimming
TJ is so chilled in the water now.
Look Left
It’s been a while (at least, like, a day) since I posted the kids together, so here they are, elegantly out of sync.
Like a baby
Whoever invented the phrase “sleeping like a baby” obviously only ever saw pictures like this one, rather than the scenes of screaming mayhem that led up to the decision to carefully place a baby on the floor rather than removing the cushion from under his head. Lately he’s been getting frustrated on his stomach, asContinue reading “Like a baby”
Writing
This was taken as I edited a novel a few moments ago. Technically both kids have been asleep at the same time for over an hour, so – yay. Bloggy blog and back to the novel.
Sorry WHAT did you say is behind me?
Poppy and a lid
TJ definitely knocks plastic toys together to make a sound. He takes after me, though, and does it in the easiest possible way – using his dummy as a base. He’s already done all this work finding the location of his mouth (aka a fixed point), and the dummy is nice and steady. It works great.Continue reading “Poppy and a lid”
Finally a decent conversationalist
On Monday night, when Louisette was going to bed and we had guests, she waved goodnight – and TJ waved back. Twice. Lately he’ll vocalise displeasure with sounds before going straight to crying which is pretty awesome. I can distinguish in an instant between pleased and unhappy raspberries. He’ll also have a full dramatic conversationContinue reading “Finally a decent conversationalist”
Last Bath
This is either the last or the second-last time TJ has a bath in a specific baby bath. He’s getting too big, so it’s going to someone else this weekend. Louisette loves it when he gets into the big bath with her.

Big Sister
Louisette still sees it as a treat to hold TJ, and will ask to hold him only once or twice a week. TJ trusts her now (he has good reason to – she’s very gentle and caring), so it’s very handy!
Hide and Seek
TJ LOVES to play peek-a-boo with a towel, and is clever enough and coordinated enough to cover and reveal his own face.
Outside
TJ is starting to be able to put his dummy back in his mouth (sometimes). He’s been pretty successful for a while when the dummy is perfectly lined up ready to go, but yesterday was the first time I’d seen him (eventually) bring a dummy to his mouth and turn it around the right way.Continue reading “Outside”
Bagged baby
TJ is sick at the moment, which means he’s spending more time on my lap – handy for photographing his main sleeping bag.
Fly, little bear!
New Things
TJ sleeps in a bag now instead of a wrap, he sometimes holds his own bottle for up to a minute, and today he had his first go in a Jolly Jumper.
